This is a newspaper tax stamp, Scott catalogue section PR. Depending on the watermark, it could be any of the following: PR1 -- Watermark consists of the phrase "ZEITUNGS-MARKEN" in double-lined capital letters across the sheet. This stamp also exists unwatermarked. PR3 -- Watermark will consist of an oval with the letters "kr" inside. PR5 -- Watermark will consist of an oval with a crown inside.

Hungarian newspaper stamp, news agency & publishers precancelled this piece

Michel nr. 71 I have only the text on German: Um die zustellung von Zeitungen zu beschleunigen / damit die Postämter nicht jeden einzeln Zeitungsmarke abstempeln müssen / wurde den Editionen ermöglicht ab 1890 bis 1914, bis zur einfürung der portofreien beförderung, die vorausentwertung der Zeitungsmarken ermöglicht. Der Budapesti Hirlap / 1900- / und der Pesti Hirlap / 1913- / haben auch vorausentwertung im Druckerei benutzt, die weiteren Zeitungen - Budapester Tagblatt, Friis Ujság, Neues Pester Journal, Budapester Napló, Pécsi Napló, Pesti Napló, Világ, Alkotmány, Pester Lloyd, KASSA Felsömagyarország stb. - haben die vorausentwertung mit abstempelungen gemacht.

Jan. 26. 1926 Engrave: the same as figure 1 2f, 4f, 5f, 10f, 40f, 50f, 75f, 80f 1p, 1,50p, 2p, 3p, 4p, 5p, 10p the value 5p and 10 pengö is made with copperprint, rest is (auf deutsch) hochdruck. Jan. 26. 1926 Engrave: the same as figure 1 2f, 4f, 5f, 10f, 40f, 50f, 75f, 80f 1p, 1,50p, 2p, 3p, 4p, 5p, 10p the value 5p and 10 pengö is made with copperprint, rest is (auf deutsch) hochdruck.
